Google has introduced an online business software package designed to make it easier for people in the same organisation to share documents and information.
The free “Team Edition” software represents the internet search leader’s latest attempt to attract more users to free applications, in the face of more traditional word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and calendar programs.
So far, more than 500,000 businesses have signed up to use Google’s applications, according to its internal figures. Check out this great little video to learn about Team Edition in less than two minutes.
With Team Edition, you can work on the same document together, instead of sorting out changes in attachments; share documents and calendars securely with your co-workers with a click; and access it all from any computer, and even from mobile phones.
Team Edition includes: Google Docs – to create/share documents, spreadsheets and presentations; Google Calendar – to arrange meetings, set schedules, and publish event information; Google Talk – for instant messaging with co-workers and making PC-to-PC voice calls for free; and the Start Page – for previewing your calendar and docs, adding gadgets and searching the web from one place.
